Christmas Greetings!

…and luck in the New Year! A few updates on PJ4Q, 630M, and MEPT beacons on 30M

2014-11-20 12.39.44

PJ4Q in 2015 CQWW CW has come and gone. Awesome to see my in-country buddies Peter PJ4NX and Steve PJ4DX, along with Scott W4PA and Robert S53R. We did not do as well as last year, technical difficulties destroyed the rate, but had a great time in any event. Check my PJ4/WF7T QRZ.com page for QSL info.

WSPRnet

I have been listening in on 630M WSPR activity (474.2 KHz USB using WSPR by K1JT). Fascinating! I may even be tempted to apply for an experimental license and transmit prior to the official FCC release of the band for general amateur use. As usual, time is my enemy.

QRSS 30M

The 30M QRSS/MEPT beacon is up and running for the moment. I am QRMing the regulars (sorry) around 10.140042 MHz, or seen from the W4HBK Pensacola Snapper . Send me a report if you see me. The rig is an aging QRP Labs 30M kit (G0UPL) at ~200mW to my 40M dipole. I will keep it running during Stew Perry Top Band Distance Challenge this weekend, but I will need my 40M dipole back for the ARRL RTTY Round-up next weekend.
